More than 5,000 jobs have been created in the city since 1997 and unemployment is falling steadily.   Dundee's workforce is well educated, highly skilled and flexible having adapted successfully to a range of modern industry sectors.

The skills base receives an injection of new talent each year with approx 1,700 school leavers and more than 4,000 graduates emerging in the city.

Vocation skills are valued highly in Dundee and many people have undertaken training and tuition to boost their job skills. 40% of Dundee's working age population is qualified to a minimum of NVQ level three and 52% to a minimum of NVQ level two.
